The gold inserts were made to enable people to express their love, compassion, and friendship in a simple way. They can be placed inside the card and taken out later without harm to the paper, as they have removable tape on the back. The inserts have also been used for other blank cards.

Each insert is printed on a special gold paper, which reflects light at different angles. It is hand punched with a heart design. Removable tape is placed on the back so that the insert may be placed in and out of the card without harm to the paper. These inserts can also be used in other blank cards when a special sentiment is desired.
